Councilman taking away Food Truck parking?

I am not sure who has heard about the city “LA Council District 4 Councilman Tom Lebonge: friend of the celebrity, foe of the small businessman. Tom has introduced a motion to keep Los Angelinos’ favorite food trucks from delivering their curbside cuisine. This is how we feel…

At World Fare we believe that people should have access to great food.  We created an experience that uses the freedom of the streets to bring this amazing food to the hungry.  The popularity of the food trucks speaks to what the public demands, to take the trucks away from the public is unacceptable. The US needs innovation and entrepreneurship in these economic times, why try and regulate entrepreneurship out of the market?

Subject: Have you tried the mac n’ cheese balls?

I’m assuming you haven’t tried the mac n’ cheese balls from Worldfare…they’re heaven. What about a bacon-wrapped Greasy Weiner with kraut and cheese?  No?!?!  The tamarind duck confit taco from Flying Pig?? Man, you’re missing out…

These are just a few of my favorite food truck items, and I would be crushed if they were unable to come to my office any longer (we have parking meters right in front of our building where they stop). I work in a mostly meaningless, boring, time-wasting job, and the only thing I have to look forward to is my 30 minute lunch break at the food truck.  Sure, I could walk 5 blocks to the Bristol Farms, but their salad bar leaves a lot to be desired.  I’d much rather have a Grilled Steak Banh Mi from Phamish.

Maybe you haven’t had the opportunity to taste some of these delicacies like I have–in which case, I’d like to make you an offer. I’ll take any of the four of you on a food truck excursion where you can experience first hand the amazing tastes and smells of these incredible trucks.  Hell, I’ll buy your lunch.  Just give me a call, and let me know what day works for you.  Thanks for your time.

Best,

Danielle
