About

Not satisfied with the “Taco Truck” as a vehicle to deliver an exceptional mobile restaurant.  Travis Schmidt and Jason Freeman bought a Vintage Double Decker bus, we figured add another level, take things to a new level. Americas first “BUStaurant” was created.

After months of kitchen design, redesign the bus was completed and ready to hit the streets of Los Angeles!   A restaurant kitchen on the bottom level, rooftop dining open air on the deck! The “carrera marble” countertops make street dining civilized and refined.

Los Angeles is often referred to as a “melting pot” World Fare views the cultural landscape as more of a fruit salad. Communities and cultures all thrown together in one crazy city, the bustaurant was created to inspire people to connect; and share life in the city and tastes of the world.

World Fare serves a variety of dishes from our gourmet Blackboard specials to our dessert creations and “street drinks” served in a bag. The BusTaurant staple is the Bunny Chows. Originally a South African street worker food; a hollowed out loaf of bread with filled with chicken curry, Chef Andi has taken the concept to a new level as a portable easy-to-eat medium for serving different flavors from around the world.

At World Fare we want to create moments, connections and inspired interactions through food. The Bustaurant seemed like an environment where this would all be possible.

Plese let me know when the bus will hit the streets….
    Appreciated

    Very cool!

  • Hi there,

I am a local realtor on the Westside and your concept and menu sounds enticing. How about adding a few vegetarian/vegan items… real easy to do since some of the cuisine offered include Indian, even a few vegan Thai offerings would also round out what is already a magnificent menu offering.

I look forward to acquainting clients and friends with your wonderful concept. Here are the neighborhoods that would marvel at the chance for great and accessible cuisine: Playa del Rey, Playa Vista, Westchester, Ladera Heights, Fox Hills, Baldwin Hills and View Park… all upscale demographics in need of good eats :)

    Much success to you!

The chef will be bringing more breadth and depth to the offerings, and the specials will definitely have some options on the vegetarian and vegan side. Right now on the menu the Vegetarian bunny, can be eaten in a bell pepper to go vegan.

Looking forward to seeing you at the bus.

Follow us on Twitter or check the website calendar for up and coming stops. It will be updated on Mondays. We are running around quietly this weekend just getting the feel for the kitchen and we will hit the streets in full effect next week.

  • [...] Oh the brilliance of the “Bustaurant”… a double-decker food truck with dining on the top level! I’d seen the Worldfare truck on several occasions, but finally got to enjoy the Bunny Chow delights at Ben Anderson’s Summer Rosé Party. Ben is the West Coast Regional Rep for Rosenthal Wine Merchant, so the afternoon was filled with heaps of beautiful Rosé wines, and even better… a surprise visit from the awesome Worldfare Bustaurant! I had the opporunity of tasting the food and drinks while the bus was in Santa Monica. Delicious!! So fresh and refreshing. I will be sure to pass on the goodness to my friends, co workers, and family.

This sounds and looks amazing (saw it on the cooking channel) but one thing that I cant find mentioned is the price range. Is it upscale restaurant prices or food bus prices. Can you give an example of the cost of some of your key items. Thank you.

Our Bunnies are $4 each, we like to make the food accessible for all so a 2 bunny combo, fries or salad cup and a cookie it is $10!
On the chefs blackboard we sell a Salmon salad for $10. 8oz Piedmontese Steak for $12.
You must come on down and give it a try.

You are right, it is badly written, I had another go. But definitely not my strength. Any suggestions I would love to hear.
